Henna Brows Mansfield Nottingham Nottinghamshire Tint Tinting

Henna Brows - get to know! All of your questions answered.

Grey brow hair? Brow tint not lasting long enough? Want a long lasting makeup look? Henna brows could be your answer! Read on.

So recently, I decided to send myself and my fellow beauty therapist Kelly on Henna brows training and we have been inundated with the same question... What the hell is Henna Brows?! And, "can I benefit from it?" So, I'll cut to the chase and explain to you exactly what it is, who is most suitable and why we're falling in love with it already!

Henna has been around for thousands of years and has been used for hair dye, body art, and makeup. A lot of people associate henna with the colour red, but henna brows are specially formulated to give a more cool colour tone that is absolutely perfect for eyebrows.

So there really is a brow treatment for everyone at my salon. From simple waxing, Brow Lamination which is an absolute hit and we do daily, to a more permanent procedure like Microblading. But there was a gap in the menu. For clients who;
-Desire a longer lasting tint than regular tint.

-Have grey hairs in their brows - unlike tint, Henna takes beautifully to grey hairs and lasts so long.
-Have over plucked, sparse eyebrows that just aren't growing back.
-Are tired of filling their eyebrows with the pencil.

-Desire more symmetry.
-May not be suitable for a permanent solution like microblading or semi permanent makeup
-Have old semi permanent makeup on your eyebrows (over a year old) and the colour has turned ashy/pink/orange, and you may not want a colour booster treatment right now.

Did you nod your head to any of those? Then we've got your back! We have found Henna Brows to be extraordinary. It lasts 4-6 weeks on eyebrow hairs, and 3-14 days on the skin depending on the desired look and your skin type!
It's versatile, you can actually have an eyebrow shape built for a holiday if you like! A great first step if you're wanting to try semi permanent brow makeup.

The brand we use in the salon is called 'So Henna' and the quality speaks for itself. It is vegan, cruelty free, halal, low PPD, ammonia free, hydrogen peroxide free and eco friendly!

We block out 45 minutes to carry out Henna Brows, this includes a brow measuring and mapping step, Henna application and development time (3-20 minutes) and waxing. We have a variety of Henna colours available, they are mixable to find the right shade to suit you and your skin tone, and the finish can be as natural or as full as you like!

Good to know tips!

-Arrive to your appointment brow makeup free, ready to go! You must arrange a patch test visit before your first appointment.

-Exfoliate your brow area before your appointment. this will remove dead skin cell build up and makeup residue, helping the Henna to adhere to your skin better, allowing it to last the maximum time!

-Henna lasts longer on dry skins over extremely oily skins. It also lasts longer on brows that already have pigment in the skin from semi permanent makeup. Skin conditions does not effect how long Henna lasts on the brow hair itself as its semi permanent, it really does last 4-6 weeks on the hairs!

-The more you can leave your brows alone and not touch them, and apply makeup, or clean and strip the area, the longer the skin stain will last.
- Henna will not last as long with skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis.
-For best results, the more brow hair the better. People with very little brow hair would not see as long lasting results but can still try the treatment.

-Patch testing is still required, even though an allergic reaction to henna is rare, considering that pure henna is supposed to be one of the safest things that you can put on your skin. We like to still be safe.
